Meghan Markle’s wedding decorations

Hello dear friends. More recently, it became known why Prince Harry and Meghan Markle decided to leave England and settle first in Canada and then in America.

This event made us remember that long-awaited royal wedding, and everything related to Meghan Markle’s wedding jewelry, including earrings, tiara, engagement ring and a beautiful gift from Harry in the style of «something blue».

Meghan’s personal style is evident in her jewelry.

Based on her existing jewelry, we expected Meghan’s elegant, simple and modern style to show up on her wedding day — and it was 100%.

Earrings

If you remember, on the day of the engagement announcement, Meghan wore a pair of dainty opal earrings. For Christmas at Sandringham, she wore classic diamond earrings.

Based on these pieces, many thought that Meghan could have opted for either contemporary diamond drops or lavish but simple diamond studs (perhaps in yellow gold to highlight her engagement ring).

The latter turned out to be correct — she was wearing small but stunning earrings in the form of diamond-shaped clusters.

In the center of each stud you see a beautiful diamond, and around it are many smaller diamonds.

Tiara

It was rumored that thanks to Meghan’s American heritage and understated style, she could wear a flowered headpiece and veil instead of a tiara.

(In fact, Sarah Ferguson did it in 1986, although she later changed into a tiara for official photos on the palace balcony.)

However, most sources have confirmed that for such a high-profile royal wedding, protocol would dictate the tiara.

Meghan wore the Queen Mary diamond bandeau tiara.

Meghan arrived at St. George’s Chapel and stepped out of the car wearing a long veil held by a diamond and platinum tiara lent to Meghan by the Queen herself.

Made in 1932, it originally belonged to Prince Harry’s great-great-grandmother, Queen Mary.

The tiara is flexible and consists of 11 sections set with diamonds of various sizes. The central part is a detachable brooch made of 10 diamonds.

Bracelet

Prior to the ceremony, critics long speculated whether Meghan would wear a bracelet at all, as many royal brides choose to wear only a tiara and earrings (Kate Middleton, for example).

However, the simple elegance of Meghan’s 3/4-length dress called for some extra accents on her wrist.

The bride opted for a stunning art deco bracelet that matched Queen Mary’s tiara and earrings perfectly.

Wedding ring

Meghan’s engagement ring is supposed to be a plain Welsh gold ring. This has been a tradition for royal brides dating back to the Queen Mother’s marriage to George VI in 1923.

The couple also stuck to tradition: the Welsh gold ring you see above was a gift from the Queen to Meghan.

Ms Markle loves to wear yellow gold jewelry, and her engagement ring was made from the same metal, so it fits her perfectly.

By the way, Prince Harry’s engagement ring really broke the Welsh gold tradition — he chose a platinum ring.

Harry’s brother Prince William also defied Welsh gold tradition when he married Kate Middleton in 2011 by not wearing an engagement ring at all. According to a Palace statement released shortly before the wedding, this was simply because William doesn’t like to wear jewelry.

«Something Blue» Princess Diana’s Aquamarine Party Ring

Finally, Meghan’s choice for the wedding reception included a gorgeous aquamarine ring that originally belonged to Lady Diana and was given to Harry by Meghan.

Diana wore an emerald-cut aquamarine to a gala dinner in Australia in 199, as well as to auction her own clothes at Christie’s in 1997.

It was this ring that became «something blue» in Meghan Markle’s wedding jewelry — a touching, deeply symbolic gift from Harry.

Here is such a beautiful image of the bride turned out. And which of the decorations presented to you is more than the rest?
